Arizona Treasure Hunt
Solving clues and avoiding jackasses since 1951

A final note from the Sage and the Chair With the passing of our dearly departed Pinnacle Peak Patio and the dawning of a new venue for dinner and awards after the hunt at Monterra at Westworld, there has been some confusion over the starting location.

The Hunt will begin in the traditional location near the southwest corner of Pima and Pinnacle Peak Roads.

General store

The festivities begin at 5:00 PM sharp (not a minute earlier) when we open up registration, the Hunt night displays, and line and T-shirt sales. Spend the next hour pondering the displays, catching up with old friends, and lusting after the blue shirts proudly won by Second Place finishers from years past. The first van will launch at 6:15 precisely. Hunt On!

Five hours later, the night will end with a screech of tires and the ejection of the Hunter chosen to turn in the results of your glorious evening. For the first time, these tire marks will be left in the parking lot of Monterra at Westworld. Monterra WestWorld 16601 N Pima Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85260 33.633232 N 111.884714 W Monterra

This is so important that we sent a previous email, posted on the website, are reminding you again here, and we will provide a detailed map in your brown bag. If this isn't enough notice, we may decide to place an extra-large jackass at the site of Pinnacle Peak Patio between 11:15pm and 11:30pm on Hunt night!

Last, as you know, we strive to improve the Hunt every year and this year is no exception. This year, a few of our changes have required us to update the Rules and Rookie Guide. Please take a look at the new versions posted on the website. Although we suggest you go over the actual documents with a fine tooth comb, the major updates are copied here to make sure we have your attention: • The Hunt will begin at the traditional place at Pima and Pinnacle Peak Roads and the end of the Hunt and dinner will be at Monterra of Westworld (fifth time is the charm we hope). • To ease congestion at the sites, we may (or may not) provide more than a single version of a visual clue and more than two copies of a working visual clue at a clue site. Previously, the number of copies of a clue at a site identified whether a clue was a visual or working visual. We are now explicitly labeling the type of clue on the outside of the clue binder present at the clue site to prevent any confusion. For example, a binder may now say “Clue A – Working Visual.”
