Sage Remarks and Wrap-Up

The password is "Thank You!" (Or is that passwords?)

The 67th Annual Arizona Treasure Hunt is in the books, and we hope that the Wizard Committee's efforts have resulted in a fun-yet-challenging night for the 85 teams that participated this year.

List of Winners

With the Game Show theme this year, we were happy to see so many teams having fun with their theme-related team names, custom T-shirts and hats.  We gladly awarded Pro Patches to the Pro team with the best overall time ("What is... Immunity?") and T-shirts to the top three amateur teams this year ("Suck it, Trebek", "Donkey Hote", "Fertile Ferrets").  Furthermore, in the spirit of a generous Game Show host, we were able to give away additional prizes this year including:

  • Free hot chocolate to the lucky Hunters at the Dutch Bros clue site
  • A free night for the highest-ranked Rookie team at one of the more challenging Escape the Room locations in the Valley
  • Dutch Bros coffee gift cards to the best team name - the almost too clever "Van-a-Whites and Pat SayJackasses"

On a more serious note, and in that spirit of giving, we were able to collect many bundles of personal care products at the charity clue that were subsequently donated to needy Valley recipients. Thank you all for your contributions!

With another Hunt in the books, we would like to thank all of those who helped make the night a success for over 500 active Treasure Hunters. This year’s hard-working Committee of Wizards volunteered their time and collectively put together the entire production over the course of almost a year.  Plus, over a dozen friends and family volunteered to help monitor clue sites and keep them in good working order for all the teams throughout the night.

While we do our best to make challenging, yet solvable clues, there is always room for improvement.  Please provide us your thoughts on how the Committee can make Hunt Night an even bigger and better success next year!  We hope to see you all then.
