Arizona Treasure Hunt
Solving clues and avoiding jackasses since 1951

T-minus 6 days until the 69th annual AZ Treasure Hunt on November 2nd, 2019!

What better way to work off 50 pounds of Halloween candy (that you bought for the kids) than to run around the desert for 5 hours. Here's some important reminders.

Prior to Hunt night:

Rookies and Veteran Hunters should review the AZTH Rules and Tips, Tricks, and Otherwise for helpful advice.

Double check the Registered Teams list to make sure all team members are listed and that everyone knows their Car number especially for registration at Check Out.

Have fun reviewing the HWOW and the links.

Check Out:

As in the past, Wizards will be on the southwest corner of Pinnacle Peak Rd and Pima Rd at 5:00 pm to begin accepting liability waiver forms and give out starting cards. Please arrive as close to 5:00 pm as possible so we can sign in all 90 teams promptly. All waiver forms must be turned in no later than 5:45 pm in order to prepare for starting the first team at precisely 6:15 pm. Make sure to check for traffic delays before getting to the Hunt and along the Hunt route.

Remember to bring some small bills in cash for items on sale at check out that your team has the option of purchasing. Your team may come across clues that may use these items. Know your car number when you come up to make the purchase.

Thank you to Hunters who filled out last year’s survey. Again by popular demand, we have decided NOT to have potential clues at Check Out. This gives Hunters a chance to socialize and relax before the excitement begins. Thoughtful Wizards have prepared some sample puzzles for those who want to get those mental juices running. Who knows? There may be some clues that didn’t make the Hunt.

Check In:

Included in the Brown Bag will be instructions to Check In at Monterra Westworld between 11:15 pm and 11:30 pm including what your runner needs to have at the drop-off point.

Double penalty starts at 11:30 pm. Teams arriving after 11:45 pm might not be eligible for placement and might not be included in the night’s results.

Clues and STICKERS will be at the sites until 11:30 pm. Wizards and helpful volunteers will clean up the site at 11:30 pm in order to be able to head to the post-Hunt dinner and share in the crazy stories of the night. Keep track of time as you run to your last sticker.

Most importantly, have a happy and safe Hunt.
